Bremner Heads Second Day Of Tattersalls Hit Sale At 280,000 Guineas
The Kevin Ryan-trained BREMNER was the top lot on the second day of the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale at 280,000 guineas on a day where 235 lots were sold for 6,528,800 guineas. The median and the average were both up, by 14% and 2% to 16,000 guineas and 27,782 guineas respectively.
The MANDURO two-year-old BREMNER is headed for Hong Kong and the John Moore stables after being knocked down to SackvilleDonald’s Alastair Donald for 280,000 guineas.
"He is one here that we targeted to buy for Hong Kong," said Donald. "He is a lovely looking horse, looks progressive and should be better over further.
Owned and bred by Martin Wainwright's Highbank Stud, BREMNER has run just three times, winning twice after finishing third first time out for trainer Kevin Ryan. He is BHA rated 91 with ‘Timeform’ reporting that he'll be "better suited by 1m than shorter: open to further improvement."
Underbidders included Johnny McKeever, who was standing with Adrian Bott, a representative for Gai Waterhouse, and Gassim Mohammed Ghazali.
