Eaton Square set to line up in Group 3 Horris Hill Stakes

Eaton Square, a 2 year old colt by Invincible Spirit out of Belong to Me mare and Highbank resident Loch Jipp, is set to make his third start of the season in the Group 3 Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury on Saturday 22nd October.

He was first seen to winning effect in a relatively weak maiden at Nottingham where he managed to overcome significant inexperience and greenness to shed his maiden tag at the first attempt. Signs of immaturity were still evident in his follow up appearance at Sandown where he was also short for room at a crucial stage of the race. Despite finishing two lengths behind in second, he showed there was some serious potential there should he learn to direct his efforts in a more focussed and professional manner.

His stepping up from a conditions race to a Group 3 illustrates his connections believe he has been impressing at home, and he will also be under the guidance of the resurgent Frankie Dettori for the first time.

Loch Jipp is currently in foal to Cheveley Park stalwart Dutch Art with plans for 2017 yet to be finalised.
